The Vintage Interiors has dated this piece to the 1890s.
The ends have a carved scrolls to each corner and carved feet, similar to a bears foot, giving the bed a Black Forest style.
The corners have swept oak posts.
The bed rails are not original to the bed but were replaced over 50 years ago and complement the rustic style.
The bed is very sturdy and comes with a newly fitted set of substantial bed slats.
The bed fits a standard double mattress 1900mm x 1400 mm.
