A Pair of Spelter Elephant Bookends

1920 - 1940
Description

A very attractive pair of French art deco spelter elephants with riders,mounted on black marble bases.

The figures are well cast with good detail depicting realistic movement. Over the years one of the boys has lost his stick in the race! There is a minor chip to one corner of the base. The mottled patination adds to the character of this beautiful pair of elephants.
