A lovely George III mahogany chest-of-drawers, of medium proportions.
c1760.
Beautifully elegant design, having two short over three long graduating cock-beaded drawers, having the original brass Neo-Gothic design handles, and ivory lozenge escutcheons.
Flanking the drawers are elegant reeded columns, inset to the canted corners.
Pine lined drawers. All locks and escutcheons are present.
Standing on ogee bracket feet.
Bees-waxed and polished. With a wonderful rich, warm colour and patina.
The condition is very good antique condition, having general signs of use consistent with age. Minor historical repairs. Historical shrinkage marks to each side and the top, historically restored / filled.
Very strong and sturdy.
