Rare Large 19th Century Copper Venison Roasting Pan

Description

RARE large early 19th century Georgian copper venison roasting pan with original lift out liner inside. This large pan reputedly originally came from Glamis castle in Angus.

It is rare in the fact that it has its original inner liner and was used for roasting large venison loins. Juices / water was added to the roasting pan and the inner tray allowed the meat not to dry out which is a common problem if venison is not cooked properly.

The pan is of early dovetailed construction with large heavy duty handles.

It is in very good condition for age.

SIZE; 19" by 17" by 5" high
