Georgian Antiques has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The curved back is piped and finished with cord. There is a small padded arm, with a ribbed mahogany section which curves down and becomes the front leg. The front of the sofa is all upholstered and serpentine shape. The sofa stands on four square tapering front legs with foliate carving in the centre, on block toes, and with a small inlaid shell on the top of outer legs. At the back are four square legs which are slightly outswept. Excellent condition and very stylish.
Size 94cm high x 178cm wide x 80cm deep.
