c1690.
Decorated to the front with brass drop-handles and escutcheon, so appears to be a drawer.

Below are two drawers, each divided with applied mouldings, having brass-drop handles and escutcheons.
Standing on wonderful large bun-feet.
Original iron locks, the drop-handles are possible re-placements, but are from the period and stylistically correct. The escutcheons are replacements.

The character to this unusual chest is wonderful, full of warmth and charm, very tactile, with a glowing, rich patina.
The condition is excellent antique condition, strong and sturdy. With all the wonderful characterful knocks and bumps, and signs of use you would expect.
