19th Century Fabulous Curved Settee or Chaise with Original Gilt Carved Frame.

Description

Wonderful 19th century superb curved chaise or settee with sensuous curves and beautifully carved wood frame having the original gilding. The graceful curves of the carved wood frame are echoed in the upholstered seat and angled back.

Approximate dimensions-72 inches long by 40 inches wide by 34.5 inches high.

This has been completely professionally reupholstered in a luxury pewter and gold fabric, and stands on the original casters.

A stunning feature for any room, and very comfortable as well. A real talking point, and a rare survivor of the period. Although you may see Victorian show wood settees, you will not often see gilt or curved settees.

This would have been originally made for a very fine home.

In very good condition, this is a most unique and elegant piece for the living room, bedroom or study. It is a very functional and impressive piece. Please request an appointment to view.
