A Superb Regency Mahogany Wardrobe Attributed to Holland & Sons

Description

This Regency Egyptian Revival piece is of beautifully figured pale mahogany with solid ebony mouldings, it stands on elegant carved feet with tall hanging cupboards to the left and the central lower cupboard conceals 3 linen trays and above are 4 long and 2 short, mahogany lined drawers.

In remarkably original condition and of superior colour and patina, this piece retains all its original feet, locks and knobs and with no visible repairs or replacements. 2160mm high, 2310mm wide and 560mm deep. Circa 1830.

Holland and sons were extremely good cabinet makers and they specialised in fine quality furniture. This English furniture making firm was founded in 1803 by William Holland and by the middle of 1800s, Holland and sons was one of the main competitions to the furniture makers Gillows, one of the greatest English furniture producers in History.
