A Fine Mahogany Linen Press

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Waterfall Antiques

A fine 19th century gentleman''s wardrobe in mahogany. The two recessed rectangular-panelled doors – of exceptionally well-figured timbers – open to reveal a single half-height hanging compartment with a fitted brass rail. Below the doors is an arrangement of solid mahogany lined drawers, all with their original turned knob handles, supported by a simple plinth base. This beautiful piece of English cabinetmaking, so pleasing for being of plain understated design, dates from c.1850 – c.1870. There is a fully working door key.
