Impressive French Bronze by Levasseur

19th century
Description

"Etoile de Berger" ("Evening Star") ~ a gorgeous large French Art Nouveau period BRONZE SCULPTURE by Henri Louis Levasseur.

Standing 23ins high, it depicts a scantily-clad beautiful young lady with long hair, standing barefoot, holding a slender crescent moon, with one arm raised. Good warm patina and in lovely condition.

It is signed on the integral base, and has an inscription within a cartouche to the front stating: "Etoile du Berger" par Levasseur, 1ere Medaille d'Or au Salon Hors etc..." A glorious bronze standing 23ins (58.5cms) tall.
