French Bronze Figure 'Laurent De Medicis'

Description

Circa 1890, French patinated bronze ‘Laurent De Medicis’ probably cast by F. Barbedienne. The well cast and chased figure after the renowned Michelangelo sculpture of Lorenzo di Piero de Medici (1492-1519), in the Medici tomb, Florence. Inscribed on the side ‘Barbedienne Fondeur’.

Size 54cm high x 23cm wide x 27cm deep.
