E W Cousins and Son has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The 'Plum Pudding' figured panels having moulded frames with re-entrant corners framed by bowwood stringing. The central fine quality flower inlays framed in kingwood ovals and chequer banding and stringing following the line of the moulded frames. The interior having 5 oak lined sliding trays with mahogany fronts. The base having 2 short and 2 long oak lined drawers again with chequer banding and stringing and brass swanneck handles. The sides of top and base having inlaid stringing. All on shaped bracket feet.
