Carved Oak French Upholstered Bed

1900 - 1920

Description

This carved oak french double bed is offered in very good condition.

The bed has been recently upholstered in a contemporary striped fabric.

The photo that best depicts the colours of the fabric is photo 3.

The upholstery is within beautifully carved oak frames which have Louis XV style shaping.

The headboard has an intricately carved motif depicting a shell, leaves and flowers.

The carving on the footboard depicts a shell at the top and a leaf at the bottom.

The bed sits on feet of a classic French escargot design.

The bed's sides have a swept shaping.

The bed comes with a newly fitted set of substantial bed slats.

We also have a chaise longue in oak that has been upholstered in the same fabric, please see reference VI 159.

The bed accommodates a standard double mattress1900 x 1400.
