Anglo-indian Couch C.1875.

19th century
Description

Stunning Anglo-Indian three seater couch c.1875. Exceptional hardwood frame crowned with carved and pierced foliate detail to the back and two proud looking peacocks on the arms. Further carved detail to the frieze below the seat and raised on shaped legs. Supremely comfortable with a raked backrest, sprung seat and a generously filled feather cushion. Excellent condition, the frame has been reglued, cleaned and polished whilst the upholstery has been freshly recovered in a patterned linen featuring peacocks in the design.

Dimensions: width 78", depth 34", height 38".
