Early 20th Century Large Chinese Cabinet Red Lacquer

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a beautiful Chinese wedding cabinet in red lacquered solid elm dating from the early 20th century. The cabinet is in excellent condition for it's age. The colour of the red lacquer is a lovely strong red with a good patina. The cabinet has its original decorative metalware and triple lock plate with butterfly etched pin bolt.

It measures 73" high 39" wide and 20" deep. The cabinets interior is divided by two drawers. The bottom cabinet is 15.5" high. With the shelf removed the top compartment measures 29" high, 34" wide and 17" deep. There is a very small hole to the back of the upper cabinet (see photo, obviously it has been used as a TV cabinet in the past.
