The wardrobe has a moulded cornice above a large central mirrored door with arched mouldings, original turned handle, key and working lock. Each side has beautifully figured panels with arched decorative mouldings and the wardrobe stands on a plain plinth. The interior has a later hanging rail. Antique wardrobes of this superb quality, especially made from such beautifully figured burr walnut are rather rare. Although it has a simple elegance about its lines, the figuring of the walnut makes it a statement piece in any bedroom. This beautiful piece has aged to a wonderful golden shade of burr walnut with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
