A.J. SCOTTE: a large impressive French BRONZE SCULPTURE of a young peasant farm girl.

Leaning on her pitchfork, she stands with her arms crossed with a sheaf of corn at her feet. Signed by the artist** and with both a foundry mark dated 1906, and an applied presentation plaque rewarding the recipient for his long faithful service from 1881 until 1925. This is a large bronze, measuring 23ins (58.5cms) high.

** A.J. SCOTTE was born in 1885 and died young in 1915 at the age of 30. It is likely he was killed in the First World War.
