Victorian Mahogany Hanging Linen Press. ca 1840.

Dating from around 1840 this fine quality Victorian Mahogany hanging antique linen press has a moulded cornice with two beautifully figured cupboard doors surrounded by moulded edges. The interior of the cupboard has been later fitted with a brass hanging rail. The lower section has a two over three drawer configuration, which are graduating in size, are oak lined and have the original turned handles and moulded edges. The antique press stands on a plain plinth, benefits from original back boards and splits into three sections for ease of removal. This beautiful antique has aged to a rich warm mahogany shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.

Height: 226cm/ 89inches

Width: 136cm/ 53.5 inches

Depth: 61cm/ 24 inches
