Super Pair of Hoskins & Sewell Victorian Brass Single Beds

19th century
Description

A superb pair of Victorian brass single beds by renowned makers Hoskins & Sewell, this pair of classic beds have heavy ring turned posts and knobs and feature beaded ovals, fleur-de-lys and floral motif decorations whilst still retaining the original porcelain castors. Each bed is stamped ‘H & S’ to each leg, Hoskins & Sewell were renowned for making high quality beds throughout the 19th and early 20th century won the contract to supply beds and cots to the Titanic.

These beds come complete with side irons and pine framed adjustable spring wire mattress supports. There is also a very small tear in the brass on one of the horizontal rails on the right side of one headboard. The horizontal iron bars to the base of the foot ends been repainted in a gold colour.
