Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1870s.
It has a stepped moulded cornice above two beautifully figured doors with key and working lock. The interior has brass hanging hooks but a hanging rail could easily be added if required (please enquire). Each side has substantial turned decorative columns and the whole wardrobe stands on an inverted break fronted plinth. Some old repairs are evident but these only add to the charm, character and authenticity of the piece. This antique wardrobe does have a wonderful, practical surprise hidden away......it 'flat packs' for ease of removal! It is a lovely rich medium shade of walnut with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
