The chaise boasts (when facing) a right-hand raised sweeping and carved arm. The back frame, which is also carved, sweeps down finishing near the level of the seat. The front of the chaise has a serpentine shape, likewise the end of the chaise. The chaise is deep buttoned and is button upholstered in beige draylon upholstery. The chaise features cream ceramic mug and brass castors, original splayed legs to the back (a sign of good quality) and original scroll end cabriole legs to the front. The frame and legs are constructed of solid walnut. This is a very good quality chaise longue. The chaise features the original polish; therefore they boast a rich deep oak colour and patination.
It has a beautiful deep rich patina, which has been generated by the years of cleaning and care it has received. This truly is a very beautiful item with quality construction and is original throughout. It is rare to see one in such good condition. This item would certainly grace any home. Condition Report:
The frame, back and legs of this chaise are completely original. The polish finish to the walnut frame is original and is in excellent condition. Importantly, the back rail and side arm are firm and there is no play in the joints. The draylon upholstery and braiding is clean and free of damage; holes or wear and tear. The springs in the seat are firm and in good condition. The four legs stand firm on the floor and the chaise does not wobble. The cream ceramic & brass mug castors are replacements. The chaise is solid in joint and is ready to use.
