Japanese Bronze Silver Inlaid Koro by Hattori Nogawa

Description

As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this most unusual egg shaped Japanese bronze and mixed metal koro bearing the Hattori Nogawa factory seal, this great lidded bronze is finely decorated with silver and mixed metals throughout three panels and the lid , the three art nouveau style handles double as feet and seperate the panels , two of which are extensively decorated with bamboo while the third panel shows a goose flying before a full moon , the removable lid cleverly fits in one direction to pick up the bamboo shoots , the legs and finial are further decorated with silver inlays , an absolute delight !

The condition is lovely commensurate with age and use.

Height 5" 12.5 cm

Width 5" 12.5 cm handle to handle .
