c1850.
This very elegant chiffonier is constructed from mahogany.

The base cabinet section has a rectangular top with frieze drawer under. The cabinet doors are panelled, again using beautiful flame figured mahogany with a striking grain. The doors are flanked by elegant acanthus leaf carved corbels. With lock and brass escutcheon to the door, no key.

The doors open to reveal an interior with a single fixed shelf.
The mahogany is rich and warm in colour, with a beautiful patina.
Bees-waxed and polished.
Standing on a solid plinth base.
The condition overall is very good, having general signs of age and use, but really very minor. No marks or signs of use to the top. The interior shelf has had a small circular section cut out to the front, possibly to accommodate a very large bottle of wine! Visible in the pictures.

Very heavy, solid, sturdy and strong
