Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1870s.
The moulded cornice sits above two beautifully figured doors with scrolled carved mouldings and key with working lock. The interior of the left hand side has a single adjustable shelf above four graduating drawers with turned handles. The right hand side has a drawer above a later hanging rail and a deep lower drawer at the base, ideal for shoes. It sits proudly on a moulded plinth with rounded corners and still owns its original back boards. This antique wardrobe has aged to a warm shade of mahogany and has a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
