This superb Mahogany chest is in a striking design. With two short over three long graduating drawers. To each side are delightful Barley-Twist pilasters.
With superior quality figured Mahoagny which is exceptional. The colour of the wood is truly out-standing, rich and warm with a beautiful striking grain.
Each drawer has the original brass escutcheons and locks, with elegant brass handles. Each drawer is Mahogany-lined, showing the quality of the chest. All drawers are very sturdy and open smoothly.
The condition is very good, with general expected signs of age and use. Light knocks, very minor. Some minor veneer damage to the plinth base.
The handles appear to be replacements, but are of excellent quality and are completely in keeping with the age and style of the chest.
Very solid sturdy and strong.
Has been freshly bees-waxed and polished.
