Here is an example of a superb quality antique flame mahogany George III two-door Linen Press cupboard, circa 1780 - 1820. The linen press features two exquisite flame mahogany locking door moulded panels, which sit below a beautiful dentil cornice. The doors feature a working lock and key. Below, the three mahogany lined graduated drawers in the base are hand dovetailed and cock beaded – a good sign of quality. The base also features the original George III floral brass swank neck handles and escutcheons, which is rare to see. The press features lovely proportioned bracket feet. Inside, the linen press also features its original mahogany detachable sliding linen trays. The linen press also features the original backboards. This is a sought after linen press due to its practical size; it does not stand too tall like other linen presses allowing it to fit in most rooms. The press dismantles into two sections allowing easy access up the staircase into the bedroom.
