Victorian Mahogany Antique Double Wardrobe with Cross Banding Detail.

This beautiful antique double wardrobe dates from around 1890, has fine cross banding and is a lovely example of a practically sized Victorian piece. It has a shaped cornice, with Grecian moulding, above two beautifully figured panelled doors with cross banding, moulded edges and unusual boxwood and ebony rope twist string inlay. The doors have the original brass handles and when opened reveal an interior that not only has a brass hanging rail but also brass hooks, ideal for hanging those belts from! The antique wardrobe stands on shaped bracket feet and is a warm medium mahogany with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
