Here is an excellent example of a superb quality three piece antique geometric design bergere suite comprising two carver fireside armchairs and a matching two seat couch, circa 1910 – 1920 originating from the post Edwardian period. The suite is constructed of top quality solid dark mahogany.
The suite boasts a lovely curved shape from the back into the sweeping scroll arms. The couch has a central mahogany splat and at the corners of the couch and armchairs are protruding acanthus leaves. The base of the suite descends into a decorative dentil frieze and splayed geometric splayed legs. The back features sabre legs to the rear. The suite is fitted with a top quality cream embossed damask upholstery. The cushions are feather filled. Cream braiding finishes off the upholstery around the frame of the suite. The suite features a sprung base below. The suite seats up to four people comfortably. This is a very comfortable suite due to the deep design of the frame.

Condition Report:
This suite is in excellent condition and is commensurate with age. The cane work is in excellent condition and importantly; there is no damage or holes to the cane worm. The upholstery is clean and in excellent condition; there are no marks or holes in the leather cushions. The mahogany frame is in good order and is free from any damage. The frame and arms of the couch are solid in joint and ready to use. All chairs are free of woodworm, solid in joint (not lose or wobbly) and ready to use.
