A superb pair of painted metal grape carriers from the Chateaneuf-du-Pape wine region of France.

Chateauneuf-du-Pape is a historic town in the South of France which means 'new castle of the Pope' and the town was chosen as the new home of the Pope of Avignon's court in the 14thc. For hundreds of years this area has had a reputation of producing excellent quality wines.

These pieces have the original paintwork depicting the vineyard crest and also the original carrying straps on the reverse. These could be easily removed if required.

The carriers are ideal as stand alone decorative items but also could be used as storage pieces for logs, papers etc.
