This is a superb quality antique rosewood Victorian double-ended upholstered settee, circa 1850. At this time, England was importing the best quality timber from its colonies. The frame and shaped legs are constructed of solid rosewood. The frame features attractive up-swept arms with a pretty shaped serpentine front and lovely two lovely arched down swept double ends, which stand on sturdy cabriole legs. The frame is upholstered in a red plum draylon material and features a deep buttoned upholstered back. The couch has a firm sprung base. The settee seats 2 – 3 persons.

This item would look great in the living room, dining room or hallway of any large house. This item would compliment any home so don't miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.

The couch is advertised at a price to sell it with the view to having it re-upholstered. We estimate that the labour cost to reupholster the couch would be around £300. This excludes the material.

Condition Report:

The frame, arms and back of the settee are solid in joint and have no breaks or damage. There are some indentations to the draylon material on the seat (see photos). A stool being placed on top of the seat, which has created indentations in the upholstery, has caused this. The indentations are not significant but are visible and this is why we have reduced the price of the settee. There is no other wear, damage or marks to the upholstery on the front, sides or back of the settee. Free of woodworm, solid in joint and ready to use.

The couch is advertised at a price to sell it with the view to having it re-upholstered. We estimate that the labour cost to reupholster the couch would be around £300. This excludes the material.
