Here we have a superb Carved Walnut and leather chaise longue c1830. As you can see the chaise has fantastic colour and patina. The farme is made from exquisite Walnut and a beautiful shape. There is a humped back rail which leads to pierced carving close to the seat. The end is serpentined as is the open side. The main carving is scrolled and has a serpent which is carved and of excellent quality. The chaise sits on beautifully carved cabriole legs. The leather has fantastic patination and has the true lines of age with a fantastic colour. Many chaise longs and day beds can be uncomfortable but the quality of this one with a perfect rake to the back rest makes it extremely comfortable.
