Miniature Victorian Walnut Wellington Chest

19th century
Description

A superb little crossbanded and inlaid walnut wellington chest of 6 drawers each fitted with original ebonised knobs and crossbanded with satinwood type banding , the chest stands on its original plinth base below an ebonised stepped moulding above which sit the bank of mahogany lined and dovetailed drawers.

The dimensions are superb , probably an apprentice piece but still totally useable as a fully lockable chest to store papers , valuables or just as a collectors piece.

The condition is superb with just a few minor dinks or nicks commensurate with its age and use , the chest has just been polished ready for immediate home or office use.

A little beauty rare in this timber finish , usually just plain mahogany or straight grain walnut !
