Here we have a super four poster bed. I believe the bed being continental is from the late Victorian period.
There are fielded panels to the head and foot ends. There are tulip feet again with carved tops. The four columns have a lovely wrythern twist which leads to a carved section and architectural corners with stepped mouldings and turned finials to the top. The columns have traces of original paint/stain. The bed has that perfect shabby chic look and is a true interior design piece. The internal measurements are great for a double mattress being 6 feet 7 inches long and 4 feet 7 inches wide. The height is 90 inches. There is also a curtain pole all the way round. More recently there have been some brackets made and internal threads so this bed is very sturdy and strong. A beautiful bed in great condition ready for your home.
