'The Cowboy' Bronze After Frederic Remington

A mid 20th century large bronze of 'The Cowboy', after Frederic Remington.

This was modelled after the larger-than-life sculpture of the same name in Fairmont Park, Philadelphia, USA.

Remington was a painter, illustrator, sculptor & author who travelled widely throughout America. He was born in New York in 1861 and died at only forty-eight in 1909. He was well-known for portraying cowboys & cavalrymen, in both bronze & paint.

This piece does portray his signature, as seen in photograph 5.

His pieces had a lot of energy & movement as you can see in this piece as he tugs on the reigns of his horse & turns from his saddle.

This bronze is a very good quality casting.
