The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

Art Deco oak furniture combines clean, geometric silhouettes and streamlined contours with traditional woodwork, frequently incorporating stylized natural motifs or geometric veneering.

Craftsmen utilised solid oak alongside decorative oak veneers, employing joinery methods such as mortise and tenon joints, dovetail drawers, and hand-carved decorative trim.

Key indicators include original geometric or streamlined wooden handles, diamond or chequerboard veneer arrangements, curved shoulder contours, and period construction markings.

Position the piece against a neutral backdrop and pair it with modern table lamps, contemporary artwork, or minimalist glass accessories to contrast the rich wood grain and dark tones.

Dust regularly with a soft cloth and apply a high-quality natural beeswax polish periodically to maintain moisture, avoiding direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent drying or discolouration.
