Description

An early 1970s Doxa wristwatch, in NOS condition. A lovely blue dial with a sunburst finish, accentuated by a lighter blue towards the centre, with a deeper blue towards the edges. Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Wristwatches from the 1970s frequently feature distinctive cushion or tonneau-shaped cases, bold dial colours, and integrated day-date complications powered by self-winding mechanical movements.

These timepieces are predominantly constructed using stainless steel or gold-plated cases, acrylic crystals, and precise mechanical movements paired with leather, rubber, or steel straps.

Authentic pieces display sharp brand typography on the dial, precise movement markings, correct Swiss-made text at six oclock, and period-accurate case geometry.

A steel watch with a blue dial serves as a versatile accessory, complementing formal tailoring as well as smart-casual modern wardrobes.

Keep the watch away from strong magnetic fields and moisture, store it in a dry environment, and have the mechanical movement serviced by a professional watchmaker every three to five years.
