This Victorian pine cupboard dates from circa 1880, built in a rustic farmhouse style with a honey brown timber finish. The piece takes the form of a low two-door cabinet constructed with recessed panelled doors, brass spherical knobs, and an overhanging rectangular top, all raised upon a solid plinth base with visible traces of timeworn surface character. Practical storage dimensions measure 100 cm high by 110 cm wide and 46 cm deep. Position this versatile furniture item in a country kitchen or boot room as a functional storage cabinet for everyday household items, tableware, or utility supplies. The piece suits traditional and cottage interiors seeking authentic nineteenth-century storage solutions with genuine signs of age and natural wear.

Victorian pine kitchen furniture is defined by robust softwood construction, simple panelled doors, turned wooden or small brass handles, and functional proportions intended for service areas and domestic utility.

These pieces were typically constructed from solid Scots pine or imported Baltic red pine, held together with hand-cut dovetail or mortise and tenon joints, and fitted with brass or turned pine hardware.

Authentic nineteenth-century pieces feature hand-planed backboards, square-cut or early wire nails, natural shrinkage gaps in timber joints, and honest wear around knobs and lower skirts.

Pine cupboards serve as functional storage in modern utility rooms, boot rooms, or kitchens, providing warm timber tones that contrast effectively against modern muted paint palettes and tiled flooring.

Maintain the finish by wiping dust with a dry microfibre cloth and applying a clear beeswax polish once or twice a year to preserve the timber and protect against moisture.
