This Balinese bronze religious icon depicts a multi-headed and four-armed Dattatreya figure seated in a full lotus position upon a lotus pedestal. Dating to the Victorian period circa 1900, the statuette displays a warm bronze colour with a golden tonality and an aged patina. The figure wears an ornate multi-headed crown and elaborate jewellery, holding distinct ritual objects in its four hands, while the oval wooden plinth beneath has a rich grain and a protective suede leather covering to the base. Measuring 37 cm high, 27.5 cm wide and 19 cm deep, the statuette carries a substantial weight of 4.488 kg. Suitable for display within a gentleman's library or study, this piece integrates well into a collection of South East Asian Hindu icons. It sits securely upon bookshelves, desks or display cabinets as a focal point of cultural interest and reflective presence. The compact dimensions allow for versatile placement in home interiors while maintaining a strong visual impact through its traditional iconography and tactile metallic finish.

Dattatreya is represented in Hindu iconography as a deity combining aspects of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, frequently depicted with multiple heads and arms seated in meditation.

Traditional figures were typically cast in bronze or brass alloys using lost-wax casting, followed by detailed hand-carving and chiselling to refine jewellery, crowns, and drapery.

Authenticity is evaluated through visible casting seams, natural surface oxidisation, age-appropriate wear on raised surface features, and traditional regional iconographic details.

These sculptures are often placed on bookshelves, console tables, or mantelpieces to serve as cultural focal points alongside natural wood, stone, and muted neutral tones.

Dust gently using a dry, soft-bristled brush or microfibre cloth, keeping the metal away from water and abrasive polish, and apply microcrystalline wax if surface protection is required.
