A Victorian Mahogany 4 Door Breakfront Wardrobe C1850

Description

A Victorian Mahogany 4 door breakfront wardrobe dating from around 1850. This wonderful piece has a moulded cornice with a lip underneath. It has two mirrored doors to the centre with carved pediment above all the doors. Behind the central doors is a rail with a slide try and 2 drawers to the bottom. The doors to each end have a long moulded panel nob handles and keys and a rail inside. The wardrobe stands on a plinth base and separates into seven pieces for ease of movement.

Measures: Height: 79" x Depth: 25" x Internal Depth Centre: 19.5" x Internal Depth Ends: 18" x Width: 97"

This Victorian breakfront wardrobe is constructed from mahogany with a warm reddish-brown timber colour and a wax finish, dating from around 1850. The four-door configuration includes two central mirrored doors flanked by two outer doors with long rectangular moulded panels, each accented with a small round knob handle and a carved scrolled pediment along the top rail. A stepped cornice runs across the top, above a plain plinth base that grounds the structure. The piece stands 206.5 cm high, 246.5 cm wide, and 63.5 cm deep, and separates into seven sections for transportation. In a modern interior, this large storage unit suits a spacious bedroom or dressing room, providing ample hanging space, shelving, and internal drawer storage behind the four doors.
