The shelves are further raised on turned supports with decorative finials, while the upper section is surmounted by an elaborate pierced fretwork back and cresting. The mahogany retains a beautiful deep, rich colour with a warm polished surface. The intricate fretwork, barley-twist supports and turned finials combine to make this a particularly striking and decorative Victorian example.
