Ritas Bazaar has dated this Staffordshire Masonic Creamware Jug to the Regency era.
Their ribbon inscriptions read "VIDE AUDE TACE", meaning "See, Dare, Be Silent", and "SIT LUX ET LUX FUIT", meaning "Let there be light, and there was light."
A radiating All-Seeing Eye presides over the scene, together with the sun, moon, stars, square and compasses with the letter "G". The lower part contains an open book, working and measuring tools, Jacob's ladder, a beehive and the chequered mosaic pavement. A coffin appears in the centre, introducing the traditional memento mori.
On the other side, a foliate cartouche brings together further Masonic and architectural devices, celestial symbols and the square and compasses. Its scrolls carry the Latin motto "DEUM TIME ET REGEM HONORA" — "Fear God and honour the King" — a statement of religious and monarchical loyalty.
A separate rose bouquet is printed beneath the spout. On the underside is an old black paper collection inventory label with the number "310". The jug came from a large private collection assembled by an English gentleman.

Condition
Two small chips to the underside of the tip of the spout, one small chip to the footrim, and wear to the light olive-green printed decoration and green bands. UV inspection did not reveal restoration. Otherwise in good antique condition.
