This Regency sofa stands as an English seating piece from circa 1825, measuring 87 cm high, 215 cm wide, and 67 cm deep with a 49 cm seat height. The mahogany timber framework displays a dark polished finish, complemented by reeded decorative mouldings along the curved rail and scroll arms. The cream-coloured upholstered backrest and rolled side panels contrast with the textured, buttoned brownish-tan seat cushion. Supported on turned and reeded legs, the frame terminates in brass castors retaining their original gilt lacquer, alongside plain rear legs. Suitable for use in a living room or a spacious hallway, this sofa provides traditional seating for everyday use in a modern interior. The piece is in very good and original condition throughout, retaining its structural integrity and historical surface details without later alterations.
