Description

A George IV period flame mahogany bow front chest of drawers, circa 1825.

The chest has a beautifully figured mahogany top above two short and three graduated long drawers, the drawer fronts displaying particularly attractive flame mahogany figuring. The upper frieze is decorated with a subtle inlaid band.

The drawers have attractive brass ring handles with decorative backplates and brass-lined key escutcheons. The chest is raised on elegant swept splayed feet, completing its restrained Regency/George IV design.

A handsome and very usable period chest with lovely warm colour and figuring throughout.

English, circa 1825.

Good antique condition with age-related marks and wear consistent with its age and use.
