Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Arts and Crafts ceramics emphasize visible handcraftsmanship, natural stylised motifs, and rich organic glazes. Produced primarily between 1880 and 1920, pieces often feature slip casting, incised patterns, or tube-lined decoration inspired by flora and fauna.

Potteries during this period primarily utilised high-fired stoneware or earthenware combined with lead or salt glazes. Hand-applied slip work and cobalt or iron oxide glazes provided distinct colour variations.

Authentic pieces feature impressed factory backstamps on the base, such as the lion standing on a crown motif. They also frequently bear impressed shape numbers, pattern codes, and hand-incised artist or decorator initials.

Stoneware jugs can be styled as focal accents on a sideboard, mantelpiece, or open shelving. Pairing them with contemporary neutral backdrops highlights their colour contrast and rich glaze textures.

Dust regularly with a soft, dry lint-free cloth. Wash gently by hand using lukewarm water and mild soap if necessary, avoiding prolonged immersion, harsh chemical cleaners, or dishwashers which can damage glaze surfaces or craze lines.
