Penderyn Antiques has dated this Antique Oak Dresser Base to the 19th Century.
Below are two panelled cupboard doors, each opening to a full-length interior, flanking the characteristic central open ‘dog kennel’ recess with an arched top. The simple panelled construction, nicely figured drawer fronts and well-balanced proportions give the piece plenty of period character. The oak has developed an attractive dark colour and patina through age and use.

Dimensions:
Height – 85cm/ Width - 147cm/ Depth - 42cm
CONDITION REPORT:
In rustic antique condition with considerable age-related wear throughout. There are numerous marks, scratches, knocks and areas of surface wear consistent with age and use. The top has age-related splits, separation between boards and areas of historic woodworm, as pictured. Further old splits, small losses and wear are present to the timber throughout, including around the edges and corners. There is variation in colour and finish with a well-developed patina.
Despite its cosmetic wear and rustic appearance, the dresser remains structurally solid and sound. The imperfections form part of the character and appearance of this old country piece.
