This is a fabulous and wonderfully charming original mid-20th-century Oil on Canvas Genre Painting depicting a small group of children gathered together within a rustic Dutch interior.

The delightful composition centres upon a young girl who proudly cradles a black and white cat in her arms, much to the fascination and amusement of the other children gathered around her.

It is an incredibly endearing scene, full of warmth, character and wonderful little details.

The children are depicted within a traditional domestic interior, complete with wide wooden floorboards, rustic furniture, hanging kitchen utensils and earthenware vessels, all contributing to the wonderfully atmospheric old-world setting.
