Mark Seabrook Antiques has dated this Carved Oak Cherub Panel to the 17th Century.
..the colour is completely natural, but the cherub and dolphin stand out from the panel, as if they have been applied afterwards....but no it is carved out of the same one piece of oak....the cherub is riding on the back of the dolphin, blowing a cornucopia ( a curved, hollow goat's / cow horn or similarly shaped receptacle)...bordered by floral swags.... the quality of the carving is excellent....and for its great age, it is in very good condition...on the reverse is some old cloth tape covering up a feint shrinkage crack applied a long time ago.
