Antique Brass Bank Sovereign Weights

Description

A good quality set of antique brass sovereign weights dating from the 19th century. There are 8 graduated weights weighing from 100 sovereigns down to 2 sovereigns. They were used by banks to rapidly verify the bulk weight and count of gold sovereigns.

They are in good condition with a lovely aged patina. They have tarnished slightly over time and have some surface marks and knocks that show a lifetime of use but no major damages and they display well.

Approximate Measurements :

Width of Largest : 3 1/2" / 9cm

Height of Stack : 3" / 7cm
