Antique Watercolour Painting Butterflies & Blossom

Description

This is a beautiful antique Chinese (Qing) botanical watercolour dating from the mid 19th Century. The well executed painting depicts insects and a butterfly surrounded by native flora.The watercolour is in strong gouache colours painted on pith and is presented in a neat gilt frame with a soft raspberry mount. It is in good condition overall (small loss to pith, top right corner) and measures 18 cms by 26 cms overall including the frame.

Rams Head Antiques is a family business based in Wolsingham in Weardale where we have had shop premises for 28 years. The shop is generally open every Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm.

You are most welcome to visit the shop but please always check to confirm we are open before travelling.
