FAQs

Maritime art focuses on ocean vessels, seaports, and coastal landscapes, capturing the transition from sail to steam during a period of expanding global trade.

These works were commonly executed using watercolour pigments on heavy paper, mounted within protective card borders and set in wooden frames behind glass.

Authentic pieces display natural paper tone shifts, period framing construction, and accurate technical details in vessel rigging executed by experienced marine artists.

Position the artwork on a gallery wall or hung centrally above a console table alongside wood furnishings to create a structured focal point.

Display the artwork away from direct sunlight and areas of elevated humidity, ensuring acid-free mounting board and protective glass are used to prevent discolouration.
